the thanksgiving feast

what a fantastic event this was! the music teacher at bobby's preschool did an amazing job putting this program together. each class was a symbol of thanksgiving, bobby's class being the indians. the costumes were to die for and decorated by each student. being the teacher nerd that i am, and a new mom to the school scene, i just ate up every minute of this adorable event!

my little indian walking in to the "stage"

all three classes (indians, pilgrims & turkeys) put on a little program with songs about thanksgiving. this was the first "school event" that bobby has done so i was curious to see what kind of a kid bobby would be. would he be the kind that sits and doesn't want to participate or the one that tries and actually sings with the group. i was very proud to say that he was great! he sat up straight and tried his darndest to sing along and even did a song in sign language. he was just too cute for words.

at the end of the program, the classes sat and little tables and had their own little thanksgiving dinner. it was so hard to get a decent picture with him not wanting to take pictures and swarms of parents trying to take pictures of their own kids.

hopefully i can download the program and post for family to see.

thanksgiving day

we are grateful for this time of year! we love the spirit of thanksgiving and remember what the most important things are to us. we were blessed to have rob's family in town for ethan's blessing and the thanksgiving holiday. it was a whirlwind of craziness, but we made a lot of great memories. bobby was spoiled rotten with someone to play with any minute of the day. and i enjoyed instant babysitters at a drop of a dime so i could nap or get stuff done. it was fun to have a noisy house and constant conversation. we hosted our very first thanksgiving dinner and i learned how to cook a turkey and make homemade stuffing. grandma's fudge was on the menu again and it didn't disappoint. we also made it a point to take our first official family snapshot. i sure love my little family.

ethan's blessing

what a special event to bless our sweet baby boy! we only wish all of our family could have been there. ethan was perfect during the blessing and rob did a beautiful job. afterwards, when Rob was showing him to the crowd, he scrunched up his legs and raised one hand. it almost appeared that he was saying "yahoo!". after the blessing when pictures were happening, bobby put on his rainboots before i could stop him. it adds character, right? rainboots and church clothes. :)
